Doing a run in 23 degree weather deserves chocolate and brunch, don’t you think? We sure did. A little over a week ago us ACRE ladies decided to run the HOT Chocolate 5 K. Our decision was largely based on the curiosity of combining chocolate and running – and this event did not disappoint. There are chocolate stops along the run (because chocolate chips are amazing sources of energy) and hot chocolate waiting for you at the finish. Done and done. Once we braved the cold and warmed up just enough to make the walk back to our cars- we headed to get some brunch. Since runs start early bird style at 7 am, we were going to be early birds for brunch. Our first stop to get brunch was at the amazing Marche in East. Brunch for 4 please- sure – just an hour and a half wait. Stomach growling we left our names on the list and went to try another spot. Next we stopped at Sky Blue Cafe, but listened sadly to the same quote- an hour and a half. Granted there were 7,000 runners at this little fun run who were also probably trying to get some eats- but maybe on the other side of town we would have more luck? No luck – 4 stops later – we decided to cut our losses and head back to see where our name was at Marche. We arrived just in time for our table and enjoy an amazing brunch together.
Brunch is the ultimate way to enjoy a meal with friends. You can sleep in, you usually get the rest of the day off of work, and you can linger over your morning mimosas. Which is why we think Biscuit Love is an amazing addition to Nashville’s brunch options. As you can tell by the wait times, Nashville can always use another good brunch spot. The clever idea behind Biscuit Love is that you get to enjoy brunch ANY day of the week, all day. Biscuit Love was founded in 2012 as a food truck that offered southern menu options from local farms. Last month, they opened a brick and mortar Biscuit Love in the heart of the Gulch. We are excited about this new addition and encourage you to add Biscuit Love to your brunch options- and not just on Saturday and Sunday. Learn more at http://biscuitlovebrunch.com
