Get some post-Halloween shopping done at Crafty Bastards Arts & Crafts Fair in Nashville

We’ve mentioned this a lot of times before, but when it comes to home decor and gifts, we really love shopping local, and in particular, really love shopping at local makers markets.

Fall always brings a bunch of those markets here in Nashville, including one that’s become an annual favorite: the Nashville Scene’s Crafty Bastards Arts & Crafts Fair, held in The Gulch.

This year’s third annual event is set for Saturday and Sunday, November 3-4, at 1201 Laurel St., and it’s free to attend — which leaves extra cash for shopping.

What’s in store for 2018’s Crafty Bastards

Crafty Bastards is a juried fair, so every vendor’s been screened and hand-picked, which helps keep the quality high.

This year’s picks once again jump across the maker spectrum, including visual art, textiles, ceramic pieces, a whole, whole lot of cool jewelry and more.

For a quick look at the breadth of this year’s vendors, take a look at a few whose creations got our attention:

A Walk Through the Woods

This Nashville couple specializes in handmade wood lamps that are a mix of rustic and refined, really fun, and especially for handmade pieces, really affordable. These Rustic Art Floor Lamps run around $210 on their website.

Nashville Noted Photography

Art is so personal, it’s almost impossible to buy for other people, unless you have a wish list. But if you know people who really love to capture our city in their home, Nashville Noted has the right pieces, from bright and bold photos of Nashville landmarks to stunning skylines, like this one, ready for framing.

Wrong World Ceramics

These folks aren’t local (they’re Philadelphia-based), but their handmade/highly detailed flasks look like a fun and impressively unique pick for the cocktails fans on your Christmas list.

CLARKandfawn

Alabama’s CLARKandfawn produce handmade and hand-lettered wood art, and what with being so close to Tennessee, they offer plenty of pieces inspired by the Volunteer State, including this Nashville sign.

Mend By Martha

It’s fun seeing embroidery get embraced again in stylish homes, and if you don’t get into needles and threads yourself, Mend By Martha creates fun fiber art, like the cute, 10-inch Triangular Greenhouse pictured here.
