Great Duo

I hesitate to give my review of The Hop Stop and it’s next door neighbor- Mickey’s Tavern– for fear that these hidden little gems will become too crowded!  I gathered a couple friends and we started at The Hop Stop.  The selection of beer is fantastic.  Justin behind the bar was knowledgable and a pleasure to talk to.  He advised us on their small but delicious food menu and offered beer samplings of anything we’d like to try.  The Hop Stop has a great half pint option that is exactly half the price… great for trying lots of options!  The interior is homey and comfortable for sliding up to a bar for a few pints.  Dart boards in the back offer an activity for the antsy patron.

Justin suggested we pop next door before heading out for the evening and we are glad that we did.  Mickey’s Tavern is exactly what they claim to be.

No DJ’s. • No bands. • No karaoke. • No trivia nights • Just a great neighborhood dive bar where East Nashville’s locals can drink

The interior is dark with a certain dive bar appeal that is just divey enough.  Foosball, a pool table and a juke box fill the inside along with the full service bar and a splattering of tables.  Outside there is a great patio with strung lights, a big overhanging tree and corn hole.  If you think all this sounds good… wait until you hear about their happy hour specials!  And to do so… you will just have to go discover this awesome dive hang on your own!  Let me know what you think!

Cheers Mate!
