Live on the Green’s 2015 lineup is here

Live on the Green

The annual Live on the Green music festival/concert series is back in Public Square Park downtown starting in August, and this week, producers Lightning 100 let us in on the 2015 lineup.

For past seasons, they’ve pulled in well-known names and rising talents spanning a bunch of different styles, from soulful rock band Alabama Shakes to bluegrass/folk act Trampled by Turtles and New Orleans icon Dr. John. This year brings just as much to get excited about.

On the schedule so far:

August 20:

Lord Huron
Nashville pop/rock band Elliot Root, Texan singer-songwriter Shakey Graves and rootsy L.A. band Lord Huron

August 27:

Cold War Kids
Indiana roots-rock band Houndmouth, rugged Baltimore-via-Tennessee rock crew J Roddy Walson & The Business and L.A. melodic-rock band Cold War Kids

September 3:

Delta Saints
Brooklyn folkie Greg Holden, Nashville “psychedelic voodoo rock and roll” band The Delta Saints and a headliner to be announced

September 10:

Rodrigo y Gabriela
Spacey South Africa-bred trio Civil Twilight, local Americana outfit Humming House, six-piece Nashville alt-pop crew Kopecky, classic R&B-driven Oklahoma native JD McPherson, harmony-laden pop outfit Delta Rae and acoustic guitar duo Rodrigo y Gabriela

September 11:

Passion Pit
Nashville rock crew Turbo Fruits, dreamy Arizona singer-songwriter Zella Day and electronic pop projects Big Data and Passion Pit, with more to be announced

September 12:

Ben Folds
Nashville kids’ music achiever Mr. Steve, roots-rock band The Districts, Nashville rock band Future Thieves, sister duo Lennon & Maisy (whom you may recognize from the TV show Nashville), Icelandic folk outfit Kaleo, bi-coastal rock voice Elle King, soulful singer Anderson East, Nashville’s psych-bluesy All Them Witches and piano-pop hero Ben Folds, with more to be announced

Each and every one of these talent-packed shows is free, but if you’re looking to roll in style a tad more, Live on the Green does have VIP options, including the Lighting Lounge VIP pass (catering, drinks, lounge tent seating, special viewing) and Backstage VIP passes (backstage access and lots more), plus September 10-12 three-day weekend passes and season passes (costs depend on the show, from $65 for Lounge VIP passes, $150 for Backstage, $219/$419 for the three-day weekend and $399/$799 for the whole season). Check out the Live on the Green VIP options here.

Keep up with additions to the lineup and other news at the Live on the Green website.

Planning on hitting any/many of these? We’re blocking out dates on our calendars here — let us know which shows you consider can’t-miss…
