Homebuyers in the Nashville area — and any area — consider a lot of things when they’re figuring out where they want to live. Commute, culture, proximity to things like parks and greenways. For parents or parents-to-be, the biggest concern is usually schools.

We can’t ever push anyone toward the “best” schools in our area — that’s fundamentally subjective and based on the factors that you consider most important. But we also know that homebuyers use a lot of different research tools to figure out what schools might be the best fit for their family, and rankings tend to be among them. So we’re passing along info we were just reading in the Nashville Business Journal, focused on new new rankings that examine the “2017 Best Public High Schools in America,” from Niche.com, which provides insights into and reviews of different schools and neighborhoods around the country.

Among a total 18,793 schools, a bunch of Middle Tennessee schools were included in their rankings, which took a mix of data — from graduation rates and test scores to reviews from students and parents — into account.

The Business Journal collected the 35 highest-scoring Middle Tennessee schools, and you can explore those at BizJournals.com. Below, we’re also including a snapshot of the types of homes on the market in districts that feed into some of those top-ranked schools — we excluded Magnet schools, since the admissions process is different, but as you can see on the Nashville Business Journal list, many Middle Tennessee Magnet Schools are highly praised, from Nashville to Hendersonville.

If there’s a specific area with specific schools that you’re house-hunting in, and you’d like to dig deeper, let us know — we’d be happy to help!
