Twice a year, Nashville-based nonprofit Tennessee Craft hosts a Tennessee Craft Fair, with artists and artisans who come from all over the country to share their handcrafted work.
The specific pieces you’ll see at the fairs span across just about all kinds of craftsmanship, from fine woodworking to ceramic arts to metal sculpture. But the quality all stands together — they’re juried events, so only serious talent gets an invite.
Have a little free time this weekend, and a Nashville home that needs some fresh decor/furniture/art? The
46th Annual Spring Tennessee Craft Fair kicks off Friday, May 5 and runs through Sunday, May 7 on the lawn at Centennial Park.
Filling your Nashville home with one-of-a-kind pieces
At this spring’s event, you’ll be able to browse booths featuring more than 200 artists’ work — and as with all Tennessee Craft Fairs, the artists will all be on-site to tell you more about how, where and why they create and design.
It’s an opportunity to find one-of-a-kind furniture, decor and more, and really form a connection to/know the hands behind the pieces in your home.
Tennessee Craft’s Facebook page has been sharing a few sneak peeks of what’ll be at the Fair. A few that caught our attention:

Diane Majors’ modern quilts
John Phillips’ hand-forged, heirloom-quality kitchen cutlery from reclaimed steel
Milton and Gwen Whitson’s kitchen accessories built with exotic hardwoods
Michael & Louise Kelley’s stoneware pottery

More than shopping
Another aspect worth noting: Tennessee Craft Fairs aren’t just a shopping/browsing experience.
You can also pick up some craft skills at demonstrations, grab lunch/dinner from local food vendors and give your young Nashvillians a chance to burn off some energy with kids activities, including artist-led craft projects.
If you end up making it, please tag us (on Instagram and/or Facebook) with any pieces you pick up. We’d love to see what inspired you.
And if you’re about to start shopping for a Nashville home to put your new finds in, we’d love to help you there, too. Call/email ACRE here, or start the home-buying process by filling out our quick online form.
