Guide To: Green Hills Neighborhood in Nashville, TN
Green Hills is an upscale neighborhood that you never have to leave. With everything from high-performing schools to world-class shopping, there’s no reason to step out of the bubble; but if you do venture beyond its posh shops and well-manicured lawns, you’ll find that all of Nashville unfolds only minutes away. Work out at the YMCA and then cross the street for a healthy breakfast and coffee from Whole Foods Market. From there, you’re in The HIll Center, a walkable outdoor mall with shops ranging from Anthropologie and lululemon to Kendra Scott, Vineyard Vines and 20 more boutiques. Find what you need, or leisurely browse on walkable, cobbled streets meant primarily for pedestrian traffic.
In Green Hills, you are minutes to Vanderbilt and Belmont Universities, 12 South, Sylvan Park, and Hillsboro Village, so it’s easy to visit friends and take in local attractions while sticking to the backroads. The famous Bluebird Cafe is on the main drag, known as a star-maker for many now-famous musicians for over 30 years, including Taylor Swift, Garth Brooks, Faith Hill, and Vince Gill.
While the city changes and absorbs passing trends, Green Hills remains steadfast, clear in its identity and long history, unlike newer neighborhoods which may still be finding their footing and establishing their value.
