Guide To: College Grove, TN

Only six miles from Nashville’s “wine country” at Arrington Vineyards, College Grove is a sleepy stopover for affluent dreamers complete with rustic farms hosting pick-your-own pumpkins in the fall and impressive historic homes averaging over $1M.

The story goes that, upon the establishment of a post office in 1854, what was then referred to as Poplar Grove needed a new name to avoid mail carrier confusion, as another Poplar Grove already existed. At the time, both a boys and girls academy existed in the area, so the town was named College Grove after them.

One of the earliest towns in Williamson County, College Grove has access to an award-winning school system for anyone with a family. It’s a perfect home base, combining privacy with convenience, simplicity with culture. Residents enjoy sprawling lots, the great outdoors, country clubs and golfing greens, neighborhood pools, and more at home; and in minutes, they’re in the core of Nashville or cute downtown Franklin nearby, peeking into boutique shops or trying the latest food trends. College Grove is a pause and a deep breath of fresh air in one of the fastest growing metropolitan areas in the country.
